Beyond their expertise in a particular subject area, our tutors are also highly skilled in connecting with clients. Each tutor works exclusively in his/her area of expertise, ensuring that clients are receiving guidance from a knowledgeable source. All tutors are trained by Dr. Shumsky in our unique method and continue to receive direction throughout their tenure. We separate our tutors into two distinct pools to match their area of expertise. Verbal tutors work exclusively in subjects related to Writing, Literature, English, History, and the Social Sciences as well as the verbal portions of standardized tests. Math and Science tutors work only on math and science subject areas and the math and science portions of standardized tests.
Each tutor has received or is pursuing graduate study, many have received a doctorate in their area of study. Our tutors are friendly, compassionate, and understand how to best serve a particular learning style. Shumsky Tutors are adaptable and will to work to find a method to maximize a student’s understanding of the subject at hand. Their schedules are flexible and they will find a mutually convenient time to meet each week.
